Come and join us in the cosy Studio out of the cold (or heat)
It doesn't feel quite like Winter yet but we're hopefully heading for some rainy weather and there's nothing better than spending creative time inside.
Our classes are designed to cater for beginners as well as ongoing students They take place in the morning, evening or Saturday afternoon to cater for everyone. New students learn through a structured program designed for them from within the class. So you will learn and be inspired from this safe and encouraging environment.
Groups are social and friendly and we even have the fabulous Gabriel from Kiss Cafe bringing us coffee and hot chocolate for morning tea during the week. Instant coffee and tea along with biscuits are always available in the studio. Take a look at Watercolours, Acylics, Ongoing drawing and Drawing Course.
Our Saturday morning classes (Teen Art) are 'chilled' sessions for students to show their creative ideas in fabulous projects. This social group produces work of outstanding quality as they are taught skills to match their imagination. There are places in our Term 2 classes beginning on May 5th. The age group is flexible depending on students' skills.
Sunday Workshop Program
We have had a wonderful start to 2012 with full and inspiring Watercolour and Painting with Paper workshops. Many students have taken advantage of our Early Bird discount. School teachers can also gain valuable PD hours by participating in one of our Workshops.
If you draw and would like to learn about colour, our next workshop is for you.Introduction to Colour- (Sunday 29th April) will be a fun workshop where we will play with paint and learn why some colour mixes work and some turn to mud. We will also learn about how colour helps with perspective. This is also a great way to renew your knowledge if it's been a while since you worked with colour.
Introduction to Acrylics - (Sunday 27th May Tuition, paint, brushes and canvas are all provided in this relaxing, fun, introductory workshop. Join artist Sandra Perry for this workshop which is suitable both for the complete art beginner and people who wish to explore a new medium.
Painting with Paper - (Sunday 26th August) Due to popular demand I have scheduled another of these creative paper sessions. This is the media that I specialise in and you will learn some of my secrets.
New Staff with great ideas
I would like to welcome new staff to the studio. They have brought some new and exciting ideas with them. Do you paint with watercolours and would like to learn how to paint from nature? Liz Merryweather teaches acrylics classes however she is also a talented watercolourist focusing on natural realism. She would love to pass on her knowledge in a Sunday Workshop. Please let me know if you would like to join in. Jean Marsh has joined our team and would like to explore mixed media on canvas in a Sunday Workshop. Absolute beginners will be given the encouragement they need to play and come away with an amazing piece. Please let me know if this appeals to you.
I look forward to seeing all our newsletter friends in the studio soon. Warm regards
